Re: [cobalt-developers] anyone@xxxxxxxxx

hi there,

This may in fact be the way to do it on the original RaQ. It's not the
way to do it on the RaQ2 or RaQ3.

we have raq2 and raq3 servers, and i can't find a rule if you can input a catch-all or not. sometimes it works, sometimes the gui says "invalid alias". sometimes it works with "@domain.tld" but not with "@www.domain.tld", sometimes with "@www.domain.tld" but not with "@domain.tld". i'm confused.

the solution to make it work on all machines (raq2 and raq3... dunno about the cube, but it should be work there, too) is to place the entry ("@domain.tld username") directly into /etc/virtusertable below the "put custom changes below this line"-line. i think you have to restart sendmail then. please notice that the gui won't show the catch-all (!!), but it works anyway.

i think sendmail parses the virtusertable line for line, meaning that it uses the first matching entry. if that is the catch-all, all following addresses are "dead". that's why it is important to place the line at the end: to make sure that other user still can get their mail. :)

cya, jonas.

ps: can anybody tell me what the difference between cobalt-users and cobalt-developers is? i thought i knew it, but obviously there are the same questions on both lists :-P
