Hello,
after sucessfully installing apache Jserv Module an running test Applet
which was working, Websysadmin was working , about 20 minutes later the
system was going bumpy, a look with ps revealed that jre was running wild
using up more and more CPU and MEM. no kill worked nothing. I tried to
reboot Message off shutdown NOW came but nothing happened only that I
finally couldnt log in any more and all http were defunct. Jserv is the only
installation I made and I have done that a couple of times before on various
maschines. I tried first to install the jserv_mod on the cobalt experimental
server but they are non ELF, so the httpd -t complains, anyway I then
installed RedHat 6 Jserv and included the Module and as above it seemed to
work fine.
So after hard reboot, and excluding the LoadModules and httpd reload
everything seems to be quite now.
Before and after the Jserv Installation I checked the Archives, but are more
confused now, loads of people complaining, weird answers again and again
about kaffe.
This seemed to be the most qualified answer:
---
The Kaffe open source JVM for the Qube 2700, Qube 2, RaQ, and RaQ 2 server
appliances is available from Transvirtual at
ftp://ftp.kaffe.org/pub/kaffe/binaries/linux/kaffe-1.0.5-6.mips.rpm .
it includes Servlet API support via Apache JServ, RMI API support, and a
Mips JIT.
Best of all, it is open source, and it is free.

but not being the GURU himself :), what is version is for Raq3 ? Do I simply
have to rpm or do I have to install anything else JSDK ?? or can I point the
java in jserv.properties on this kaffe Java and it will work without nuking
the Websysadmin (I have installed nothing else but the jserv, I did not
touch /etc) only rpm und http.conf edited. Is Apache RH 6.0 the right jserv.
Anyway any way :) and help to get a Jserv installed without nuking the
system appreciated.
